Although it seems that Edward is accepted in the beginning, we soon realize that this is not the case and that they are just taking advantage of his skills. At first sight one can not but think of an evil, ominous character, but as the story evolves and Peg Boggs tries to integrate Edward as part of the community we start feeling sorry for him. His whole mysterious appearance is stressed by his black tight leather outfit, his white gothic makeup and messy hair.
